Presentation Summary:
The speaker will discuss the paradigm shift that Proposition 19 created as well as the many updates to the legislation since initial implementation. Participants will learn about how to continue implementation of Proposition 19 as well as common pitfalls that have arisen from the planning both before and after implementation. The speaker will discuss potential gaps in the law as well as discretion by the assessor to permit deviations.

Learning strategies to assist clients with avoiding unnecessary reassessments. About Our Speaker:
Jennifer F. Scharre is a Partner with Temmerman, Cilley & Kohlmann, LLP in San Jose, California. Mrs. Scharre's practice includes estate planning, estate administration, beneficiary representations, conservatorship matters and guardianship matters.
Her estate planning practice includes the preparation of revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, and wills, as well as incapacity planning documents. Mrs. Scharre's trust and decedent's estate administration practice includes representation of trustees, personal representatives, and beneficiaries in all aspects of trust administration and probate including preparation of trust accountings and estate tax returns.
Mrs. Scharre's Accounting degree from the University of San Diego makes her uniquely equipped to assist clients in complex estate planning and estate administration. Mrs. Scharre earned her J.D. degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. Mrs. Scharre is a Certified Specialist in the area of Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law by the California Board of Legal Specialization.
Jennifer not only gives back to the legal community through speaking and presentations for professional organizations but also participates in her local community by providing informative presentations regarding estate planning, charitable giving, and special needs issues.
Mrs. Scharre is a Guest Lecturer at UCSC Extension and a Lecturer at Santa Clara School of Law. Most recently, she taught Wills & Trusts during the Spring 2019 and Summer 2019 terms. Mrs. Scharre is rated by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star from 2019 through 2022.
