Presentation Summary:

This session explores how purpose-built AI is reshaping tax research and planning for practitioners. Founded by Stanford AI Laboratory researchers, Accordance is the first multi-agent LLM trained specifically on federal and state tax authority - the IRC, Treasury regulations, case law, rulings, and administrative guidance. We will walk through how the model reasons like a CPA: identifying issues, locating and evaluating authority, extracting fact patterns from client files, and developing partner-ready recommendations with full citations. Using real fact patterns, attendees will see how the technology handles complex scenarios - partnership redemptions, collectibles characterization, and multi-state exposure - with measurably higher accuracy than general-purpose models, closing on a deployment philosophy that elevates staff and improves quality of life.

Learning Objectives:

Identify how an AI model trained on primary tax authority structures a research workflow, from issue identification through evaluation of authority to recommendations.
Evaluate the accuracy of purpose-built tax AI against general-purpose models using complex fact patterns involving characterization, applicable rates, and multi-state exposure.

About Our Speaker:

Neo Kounalakis is an Account Executive at Accordance, an AI-powered tax research platform serving CPA firms and tax professionals. He works directly with firm leaders to deploy frontier AI across tax practices, leading onboarding, training, and adoption.

Every advisory team around a family enterprise succession has legal counsel, financial advisors, and often a business valuator. But few have someone whose role is to address what the family has left unspoken.

When a succession transition stalls, the instinct is often to revisit the documents, the valuation, or the plan. But what if the plan was never the problem?

In this session, Stephanie Zenker, succession dynamics specialist and member of the Purposeful Planning Institute, will explore what changes when a succession dynamics specialist becomes part of the advisory team.

You’ll learn:

What a succession dynamics specialist does—and does not do—within an advisory engagement
When and how to bring this role into the succession process
How to define scope, engagement points, and boundaries
How to position the addition with a client so it strengthens the advisory team rather than suggesting something was missing

Stephanie Zenker is a succession dynamics specialist serving multi-generational family enterprises. Her work focuses on surfacing what a family has left unspoken and putting it in front of them—without prescribing what happens next.

Her background in quality management, including experience as a certified SQS auditor and EFQM Business Excellence coach, informs her approach. She sees the family enterprise structurally, not clinically: looking for where the system breaks down and what may be preventing the transition from moving forward.

Based in Los Angeles, Stephanie brings a distinctive perspective to the succession advisory team.
